"Dr. Wong is excellent at working with the customers, is fair, and works well to please others.I really enjoy negotiating pricing and having her explain what would be best for me for my sister’s up and coming wedding next year.I know that she will be the person for whom I should speak to in regards of a second opinion on my tooth and will do her best to get it at best price for my finically situation.I will always stick with Dr. Wong’s advice and council with her if I can reach an agreement on price if I’m ever to make a change in the shade, color, or texture of my tooth when I’m able to get qualified dental insurance. She worked well with me on Care Credit, but I know that I will have to get my tooth changed eventually so it looks more natural to my other teeth as well. Thank again Dr. Wong and I hope that we can work out pricing for my tooth once again as soon as you can so I can get an adjustment."- J.B. / Google / Apr 05, 2019

What to Expect
For the scaling and root planing procedure, our dentists will apply local anesthesia on the areas being treated. Sedation may be added to help the patient remain relaxed and comfortable during the procedure. To reach all areas of the gum pockets and remove the plaque and tartar that has built up, our dentists will use a manual scaling tool or an ultrasonic cleaner. After the gum pocket is cleaned, our dentists will minimize the areas where plaque and tartar can become trapped by planing (smoothing) the surface of the tooth. After the procedure, the gums will begin to heal and reattach properly to the tooth root. Some patients may need more than one treatment to get their best results.
After the scaling and root planing treatment is done, patients might experience some inflammation or bleeding of the gums for a few days. To keep the gums and teeth clean after the scaling and root planing procedure, patients should talk about proper techniques for brushing and flossing so they can establish a good home care routine. Patients should also be sure to schedule dental exams at least once a year at DentalWorks - Grove City or as recommended by our dentists. Our dentists will usually schedule a follow up appointment 2 - 4 months after the procedure to check the patient's progress.
Since scaling and root planing is often a medically necessary treatment for gum disease, most dental insurance companies will cover some or all of the cost of the procedure. DentalWorks - Grove City will contact the patient's insurance company to figure out their specific coverage and out-of-pocket expenses. Patients can also discuss payment options and financing plans while they have their consultation with our dentists.
